JP

I actually have a couple as I remember that one in the picture was decaled but I have others that I believe are tamp. It was hard to get a mint one, either the gear was bent or there were subtle paint or joint issues. The ones I have now are in great shape but it took a couple to get there. It has always been one of my faves.

I look forward to the 2008 releases hopefully a F-5 or a SR-71 will make the cut, a F-16 in red, white and blue prototype colors would be nice as well.

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Hi Ranjet and welcome to the fold!

Your collection is simply amazing! I have never heard of somebody having that many Armour models!!!

I guess you have all the models I've been looking for a long time.

Do you have on model of each type or several? If the later I'd like to send you a list of what I am looking for.

Cheers,
AA

Hello All

This is my first post to this great forum. I am an avid diecast collector and appreciate the comments, pictures and information you all contribute. Alright, here goes, if Armour Addict is an Addict then I am a Psycho, Crazed Lunatic Armour Collector - I have over 460 1/48 Armours. I at one time entertained starting a business but my current job really doesn't allow me to do so. I specialized in the rarer types and have many times scoured the world to find them. I took care of John Youngs on the Aussie Sabre. I stumbled through the Japanese language to get some F15s, Sabres and Phantoms. I am waiting for the day when I can have a huge room to display them all. Right now I am in transition and have many in storage but need to definitely thin the collection for domestic reasons...

I obviously enjoy the hobby and collect other scales and manufacturers as well. I am thankful for having these replicas and am not overly critical of their composition. Its nice to have a forum of others with similar interests. There are some awesome models coming out and I am excited (crazily addicted) to this hobby. Take Care

Hey AA-- Look, there's someone more "disturbed" than you and I put together! Welcome to the forum ranjet!
----Happy collecting, markko

Yeah, markko! This is really kinda "disturbing" in a way...

460 models has to be quite some cubic feet of space!

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Yes, welcome Ranjet! What a staggering collection, if you have it as a digital list then you should post it sometime. Franklin Mint has made some very rare versions for specialized markets and most of us are unaware of these liveries.

And yes, we have a great time here at the Model Forum!

Yeah, I'd love to complete my knowledge of localized and special versions!

A great time yes, but an empty bank account, too!

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

I agree, I want so badly to display them, of course I collect Century, Corgi, Dragon and others. Some day I will have a museum maybe... I really do need to thin out the collection. The rarer ones I have are the JASDF F-15, Sabre, Phantom, Screaming Eagle Phantoms, Royal Navy Phantoms, Swiss, CAF, Aussie Hornets and Sabres, German Sabre, Phantom, Starfighters. Only have one of the F-15 Eagle RedHawks, most of the older releases. All sitting in their boxes!! Here are some picts of some:

Very impressive!

I have 5 out of the 8 you posted, not bad I guess.

I'd really like to have that JSDF Eagle and the RedHawks Eagle. Wasn't able to get one of those yet.

I do collect the Swiss, RCAF and Aussie Hornets, too. I am missing several of those.

Especially the J-5236 is one rare bird. Only 150 pieces if I remember correctly. I havn't one yet, but I know where I can still get them. Unfortunately only at an exorbitant price...

Lucky me has found one just a couple of days back...

I even found it over here, I never would have thought that.

Now I am really curious wether it is tampoed or decaled.

I do know it is a CDC first issue (the reddish, brown box)

Ranjet - ...and MOST grateful, too!! I was trying like crazy to figure out just how many of these things you had, but holy cow...!! Well, I'll never get that far; however, I've got every F-4 with the exception of the two British Phantoms (the FG.1 & the FGR.2 - they were so poorly represented I just passed on these...) - I'm going to wait and see if Armour or anyone else comes out with a NICE FGR.2 someday WITHOUT matte paint & water-slide decals... - and the CDC (brown-box original) VF-51 Screaming Eagles F-4. Still looking for one of those. And, as you know, I've got all the F-86's with the exception of the Japanese F-86F-40 (which, unfortunately, it's really not - I just want it for the paint scheme...!!) which I decided to get after I got their 302 Hikotai F-4EJ Phantom - acquired with the help of Armour Addict...!!
I want to say to everyone out there - if you need to acquire a rare and/or unusual or very-hard-to-find Armour/FM plane - THIS guy is your "White Knight"...!! THANKS, RANJET - WITH MUCH APPRECIATION!!! - JY

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Let me know what you are looking for. I will see what I can do. On some of the rare ones I do have some extras. They are not easily accessible but I will work with you. Need about 200 more??

I have now by being on this forum taken the first step of 12 by admitting I have a problem. I appreciate all your support!!

Thanks for the nice note John, you know your details, especially on the Sabre.

Exciting on the new releases JP, You'd think I could be on the board at FM or something and would have access to the new releases etc... That is why this forum is awesome.

Last year I was hoping for the F-15 Streak Eagle and a F-86 "Skyblazers" and they did release them. The Skyblazers plane is one of my favorites - great model. The Streak Eagle (time to climb) record breaker was silly when it came with fuel tanks and weapons etc. The actual plane had a very clean configuration so it could break the MIG-25 Foxbat's and the venerable Phantom's records. I just removed the excess baggage to clean it up.

Love the Heavy Metal Birds!

I think I just pooped myself! Man, you got me there. That's one really impressive collection. You must dedicate an entire room for that display?
