Well i have to say i have about 8 Phantoms and a little of the others such as 2 B-25's Doolittle Raiders, 2 F4U Corsairs VMF-214, 2 P-38's Bong & McGuire, 2 F-86's Glenn & Skyblazers, 2 P-51's Old Crow signed & Bluenoser, 1 B-26 "Flak Bait", 1 Spitfire, 1 F-18 Blue Angels, 1 F-16 Thunderbird and 1 A-10 hog "Let's Roll".

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Well, I am wondering how many models from CDCs & FMs Collection Armour each of you has?

This is refers only to 1:48 scale which seems somewhat underrepresented to me...

My curiosity is based on my reflection wether I am the only lunatic around here.

P.S. I haven't voted - yet!

Don't worry AA, you are not alone. I currently have 261 Armour Collection 1/48 scale models. Of those, I have 203 on display in curio cabinets with 58 still boxed. I will not unbox a model unless it can be displayed in a cabinet. I just got a new "medium size" cabinet that will hold 35-40 models. I'm down to only enough space for one more small cabinet, plus I think I can cram several more models into my older cases by using some clear resin display cubes and stands with staggered heights on the shelves. I started collecting CDC/Armour in 1999. I went bonkers for a couple of years, getting virtually everything offered. Have slowed down considerably lately-10 to 15 a year due to space limitations and more discerning taste due to new manufacturers getting into 1/48. I have all 23 Phantoms as well as all Hellcats produced by CDC/FM as well as many examples of other toolings that I like. Don't have time to break down my collection right now or post digital photos--but some of my suppliers hve seen pictures of my collection and know that there is a totally deranged person living in Victoria, Texas. --------------Happy collecting, markko

Thanks markko! That makes ME feel a lot better! At least now I know that I am not the only lunatic in regard to FM/A out there!

I started a couple of years back. My overall collection is a little larger since I have several models from other 1:48 manufacturers plus some build plastic models.

The biggest part of my collection are Hornets, I have 31 of those. Phantoms I have 13, I decided to collect only the rare ones.

Happy collecting!

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

I have one of each model , plus , if there is a variant that is disinguishable - i.e . B-17F and G (nose turrent) and the gun nose vs. glass nose on B-25 and Mosquito .. total over 70 FM/CDC models ... the NEW wife loves them

Kind of in order that I purchased them.

Stuka "Snake" (B11B268)
P-47 "Eagleston" (B11B296)
P-38 "Putt Putt Maru" (B11B283)
Spitfire "Alan Deere" (B11B565)
B-17 "General Ike" (B11E055)
He-111 "Poland Campaign" (B11E200)
B-26 "Flak Bait" (B11E053)

Aeroeng, I am impressed! I am interested in what you think of these 7 from your list, I have always been interested in them. You must have one massive storage area!

Hi Ara1,
The He-111 is my favorite die-cast in the collection. The P-38, P-47, & B-26 are in the top ten. The Stuka, Spitfire, and B-17 are also really neat. The size of the B-17 really sets it a part from the others. I'm not real knowledgeable about the technical accuracies, but I think they all look super cool. Back in September last year we discussed are favorite FM molds on the Florida Forum. I've got a Wildcat, Mig-15, & Mig-17 since then. I change my mind every now & then on the order, but here's the link.

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Hello All

This is my first post to this great forum. I am an avid diecast collector and appreciate the comments, pictures and information you all contribute. Alright, here goes, if Armour Addict is an Addict then I am a Psycho, Crazed Lunatic Armour Collector - I have over 460 1/48 Armours. I at one time entertained starting a business but my current job really doesn't allow me to do so. I specialized in the rarer types and have many times scoured the world to find them. I took care of John Youngs on the Aussie Sabre. I stumbled through the Japanese language to get some F15s, Sabres and Phantoms. I am waiting for the day when I can have a huge room to display them all. Right now I am in transition and have many in storage but need to definitely thin the collection for domestic reasons...

I obviously enjoy the hobby and collect other scales and manufacturers as well. I am thankful for having these replicas and am not overly critical of their composition. Its nice to have a forum of others with similar interests. There are some awesome models coming out and I am excited (crazily addicted) to this hobby. Take Care
