Opinions on the FM C-47

Just wondering what opinions are from those of you who own the the following FM models. I'm looking at buying the FM B-17 Sweet & Lovely and the FM C-47 Honey Bun III. Are they accurate or should I just skip them. I already own the Nine O Nine and Memphis Belle but not a C-47.

Thanks,

Trex

Re: Opinions on the FM C-47

I think the C-47's look nice except for the reverse pitch of the props .

Re: Opinions on the FM C-47

I have the C-47 Argonia. I think they are cool. If you like the B-17's, you will like the C-47.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

missingI have "Sweet & Lovely" and it is just that. Not flashy, but the Red & White belly band makes it stand out enough to suit me. It sits on the other end of a book case and holds its own against the B-24 "Jerk's Natural'. Get them both-keep 'em flying.

Whoops, should point out that the above bombers are Corgi 1:72 and not FM 1:48.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Y

Re: Opinions on the FM C-47

Ditto on the "Sweet Piece" comments^^^^^, I own two FM C-47's and love them.

The reverse props are a problem if you are inclined to take a look. If you happen to own the FM 3-bladed Ju 52, those props would work as a good retrofit. Also, online aftermarket manufacturers also offer Hamilton Standards.

Re: Opinions on the FM C-47

A few days ago my first two FM C-47 arrived. Honey Bun III and the Military Air Transport Command version as seen on aeroeng´s pictures.
Both are huge, heavy and look great. I like them, but I do not have the display place ( not yet )

Unfortunately, the Honey Bun version has quite a gap on the nose section as you can see here :

But so far, I did not found any other failure

Trex !!!!!!!!!!!! Derhambugerjung has just come out with UNDERSTATEMENT of the year

You could hide a 'scale' M.1 Garand in that 'Gap' !!!!!!

(or, better still a whole squad of 'M.1 Garands !)

I bought my "Honey-Bun" III off of E-bay, without having seen it = VERY MUCH an 'Impulse' buy.

As I was on M.H.1 (at the time) I put out a thread asking opinions of aforesaid C.47 (already committed !)

Hworth18 posted-back & warned me of the nasty join line that spoiled an otherwise nice model (wise-words).

As the saying goes..."once bitten, twice-shy" & I never went on 'Impulse' again.

When it arrived, I even contemplated "Sqdn-Signal Body Filler" (used for join-lines in Plastic-kits).

My "Honey-Bun III" has languished in the conservatory, ever since !

My fault, for going like a "bull at a gate" & not seeking advice earlier (BEFORE committing to buy).

I did see the Brit' Desert cam 1/48th recently & the join line was a zillion-times better !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Opinions on the FM C-47

My C-47 noted above is real tight at that join line. I bought it from a hobby shop and got to look it over first and was real happy with it. Derhamburgerjung, does your MATC have the join line problem also?
