Armour P-51C Mustang ?

Is it true that Armour plans to release a new tooling of the Mustang next year? Could it be comparable competition for EI's P-51B?

Re: Armour P-51C Mustang ?

They better do a heckuva lot better job re-tooling their Mustangs than Corgi did if they want to be playing in the same ballpark as EI...

Re: Armour P-51C Mustang ?

yea...I've purchased the new FM Wildcat and it's an improvement, but still far from EI quality. I would suppose that the new pony plane's quality would be consistent with the Wildcat seeing as it too is a new casting. Props for the improvement, but they still have a way to go.

Re: Armour P-51C Mustang ?

I still can't believe that Armour would not have tried to be the first to come out with an all new model that is missing from 1/48 scale collections like the P-39 Airacobra rather than producing a model that is already available!

I have been told that Overstreet's signed Berlin Express P-51C will be in the dealers stores very soon.

It's about time! I have been dyin' to see it! Not that I'm gonna buy; FM will have to demonstrate a remarkable improvement to me, this really needs to be close to EI's castings for me to buy.

However, FM/A's choice for the first model in the series is outstanding! I gotta give them credit here. This is a beautiful livery, from a famed pilot, from a famed fighter group. I wish wish wish wish wish EI would get on the ball and release another pony (OLD CROW... anyone, anyone, anyone). The first three EI Stang releases/liveries excite me, the second three... well... uh...

Just did a search:

OMI received them in stock on 11/15
Aikens is also listing it as in stock.

No pictures yet (other than FM's stock photo)...

Does anyone know if Overstreet's Mustang was modified with a Malcom Hood? See this web-site and pics:

Re: Armour P-51C Mustang ?

FM's pre-pro stock photo:

I assume FM's model is a later depiction; it has 5 kill markings and partially removed invasion stripes. But I am still interested in a picture of the real deal with a Malcom Hood. If anyone locates one, please post.
