Stanford Tuck Hurricane on the way!

Last edited by Ara1 : 10-27-2007 at 01:21 PM.
Hey guys,

I made my first diecast purchase in 2 yrs with the Stanford Tuck version of the Hurricane by Franklin Mint. I am really psyched to get this plane! Here are a few preview pics, I'll post a review and my own pics when the bird hits the mailbox.

Good looking plane. Nice buy!

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Thanks MD. I made a few of the Monogram kits when I was a kid. Can't wait to see this old friend again, esp. in the early war brown/green colors.

I'll admit that's one fine looking Hurricane by FM. Looking forward to your review too, Ara1.

Re: Stanford Tuck Hurricane on the way!

Many years ago I looked at FM planes and thought they were poor.

However maybe its time to look again. Some of the photos and comments being made make me think they have upped their game.

I think its time to investigate.

I look forward to your perspective. I hadn't seen any FM stuff in the flesh until last week when I stumbled across the ghastly FM/Armour Mirage III and Bf 109. The 109s were alright but didn't make me want to part with my cash there and then.

I can't wait for your take Ara1. I see many on this forum favour the 1/48 FM range. Do you have any other FM 1/48s? Long time no purchase mate, you been ill?

Re: Stanford Tuck Hurricane on the way!

I have this same plane and it also has the nice 2 tone underside. Not sure if that is accurate as it's blue and black and not on the Corgi. Mine lacks the port side kill markings though . Wonder what happened there?

I like it fine but like the Corgi better.

I've stayed away from the 109's as well, haven't seen The One yet.

Hey Parsig,

I will check the colors when the plane arrives. I have a feeling the actual RAF color was duck egg blue, but I may be wrong.

Regarding Corgi, I'm a 1/48 guy so I try not to look...
