Re: Spirit of St.Louis

Gavin,
I believe that is a Mahogany wood model that Franklin Mint had...That is the same looking stand as my Red Baron and Sopwith Camel WWI fighters i got from them a few years back.
If i'm correct these are long sold out...I know of a friend who has all these planes he might have a extra one around who knows...I'll find out for you.

Re: Spirit of St.Louis

Franklin Mint Spirit of St. Louis Approximately 91/2" (24.1 cm) in height with a 19" (48.3 cm) wingspan, Scale 1:24 Description One of the greatest events of the 20th century occurred on May 20-21, 1927 when Lindbergh completed the first nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in the Spirit of St. Louis. Hand-carved mahogany replica is painted in the exact colors of the real single engine Ryan monoplane that made the harrowing New York-to-Paris flight, with the identical markings on wing and fuselage. Configured with side windows, just like the famous original. Rotating propeller and polished wood base with brass nameplate.

Part-Nr. should be B11D012?

They go for about $70-$80 on the bay.

But I've never seen one in person or in an online store.

Good hunting!

Re: Spirit of St.Louis

I'm interested in the letter pictured on the desk. It reputedly has the Franklin Mint 2008 releases list inside.

Roger that! My co-worker has that one as well and wouldn't mind if FM plans to do a diecast on it, I would buy it too!
