Rare Franklin Mint Spitfire Mk1

Hi,

now that I can breathe again after laughing so hard check this out:

RARE FRANKLIN MINT SPITFIRE MK 1 MILITARY WAR PLANE NR
FIRST SPITFIRE MODEL LICENSED BY THE FRANKLIN MINT 1989

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RARE-FRANKLIN...QQcmdZViewItem

For an instant buy of ONLY $495!

Well, lucky me has one of those but I paid a fraction of that sum.

These were 1/48 models released by FM before the Collection Armour came out. They are on par with i.e. the B11A191 AH-64D Longbow Apache Diecast Model with display stand and the Franklin Mint Precision Models COA.

Anyways, could somebody please be so kind to post or PM me the text of the auction? I can't access the auction due to some "legal restrictions in your home country" BS from ebay. I always wanted to have some more information on this model and the line.

Thanks in advance!

AA

Good luck selling that thing for that price...
I mean you may get a rookie that just woke up and thinking about collecting models...and does not know anything about selection and prices.
That person might buy it and regret for paying that much for it.
That model's wholesale price cost is: $79.95 USD.+ 20% store/ retail mark up.

I like everything that flies, except flies...

Re: Rare Franklin Mint Spitfire Mk1

Does anyone know the Franklin Mint part number for this item? I think I might know where one is but it's in an odd sized white franklin box with only a part number exposed.

Re: Rare Franklin Mint Spitfire Mk1

Is it just me or does anyone else think that stand looks just like the Eagles International stand?

Thanks a lot dilligafocau!

AFAIK the part-number is B11SH67

Is it just me or does anyone else think that stand looks just like the Eagles International stand?

Nope, the stands are quite different. The EI one is way smaller and has a different angle.

Check the attached pic for clarification.

Thanks for the clarification AA.

Nice display, by the way. What's the story behind those medals?

Re: Rare Franklin Mint Spitfire Mk1

Armour Addict your FM PRF Spitfire looks waaaaay better than that sad looking 'rare' example on the 'bay. I agree with Old Crow, nice display there
