Question Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

Here's two easy ones. Take the F-15E and put in an Israeli desert scheme - instant F-15I. You could also do an Osirak raid scheme with the existing F-16 mold. Fix the Mirage III, and then please also add an IAF livery. Is the Franklin Mint scared to do Israeli schemes? My 1/100 CDC Armour Israeli schemes are some of my favorites. Anyone have any information on why there are no Franklin Mint IAF models?

You know, other than HM's Iraqi and Egyptian MiG-21s, it seems that ALL the Middle Eastern countries are avoided by the diecast manufacturers, not just Israel. I haven't been following the FM/A line closely the last few years; do they make any Middle Eastern MiG-17's or 29s?

Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

Frankly, I just don't understand why (with the exception of Witty's Scorpion and 101st Sq IAF F-16s) the other manufacturers haven't done any Israeli airforce schemes either??? It
seems they wouldn't even touch it with a 10 feet pole...I dunno? It's high time they recognize and give honor to one of the most celebrated elite fighting forces of this planet, and what
better way to do that than to release an F-4E and a Mirage IIICJ in Heyl Ha Avir colors.

A Super Hornet would make a great addition the hornet line. A Su-27 or Rafale would be nice too!!

Thumbs up Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

Hm, I hope it will be way better than the current one! I am addicted to buying FM/A but that Mirage makes me barf!

I heard they are going to do one version of each of the current molds.

Oh, oh! Another 3 CF-18s? Any intel on which ones?

AA

Hi AA

sorry for the confusion ...
I wanted to say that in next year's catalogue, we will (also)
have the 3 "new" showbirds that came out this year.

...but I'm sure we're going to have some new cool stuff,
as we germanophonics say: "Nicht verzagen, Scott Merritec fragen!"
... he owns big time!!

Cool Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

Only a decent Mirage IIIB,BE or D could really reconciliate FM and I.

But I could also reconsider my attitude if they come with a F8E, FJ4 Fury, F86D/K or H, or F100...

planenutsfrog: DAMN STRAIGHT!!! I'd give my left, well, you know... - for a DECENT (read that: CORRECT Canopy AND Nose air intake, landing gear, wing, etc. - ie, NOT just another "F-86" painted up to look like a Fury-Four...!!!!) Fury-Four or an F-100 SS!! I'd settle for an A-4M, N, or "Singapore" SU model (dual, separate cockpits)Skyhawk... - but I'm NOT holding me breath on any of this!! See my photo line-up for some GREAT shots on the ONLY currently flying & airworthy Fury-Four in the US!!

Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

What I would REALLYYYYYY want to see is a 40th anniversary re-release of their Apollo Lunar Lander. By far the best ever released model of the Lunar Lander and extremely hard to find now.

Talking Re: Collection Armour - What do you expect for 2008?

Fellow Collectors:

Perhaps we can do a bit of investigative journalism and track down the mysterious, ever-reclusive person responsible for FM aircraft research & development. We can sign a petitition, take a poll of desired aircraft, and present our want list.
