Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

I know the tag does give it away just a bit !!!! as a matter of interest which F-104's do you have? don't worry I won't try and buy them....

I have (sorry I don't have the reference numbers handy): USAF 479th FW, Belgian AF Tiger-Meet, Luftwaffe "Bavarian Special Scheme," German Marineflieger.

I also have 2 F-104s in 1/72: MB NASA, and HM "Pussycat."

Don't worry I may collect F-104's but I don't keep a list of numbers! I know some people say that they are not up there with the best now. But I still like them in 1/48 no panel lines because the detail is OK without. The Marine flieger is one of my favourites also the Italian F-104GS Diavoli Rossi next to it is a real photo with the type of payloads it could carry . (If only the companies included this sort of payload.)

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

Hmmm,

I have a question, I wonder if all you FM fans could offer some advice?

I had hoped some one would make a 1/72 version of the P40N special Commemorative 15000 model.

I dont think it will ever be made in 1/72 however FM do make one in 1/48.

Some of you say the P40 mould is poor but some say its good.

Before I jump in and buy this FM model would you gentlemen advice me please?
Has anyone got this bird and could review for me?

Many thanks in anticipation.

God Bless America.

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

Jim.
I think you better stick to the Carousel P-40 for now...Since they make the best 1:48 there is...I have a few Specast P-40's which are very nice as well....Bottom wing has no detail on them is the problem.
The main thing i don't like about FM P-40 is the way they did the canopy on that bird.
If you want to get a good WWII bird from FM they have a few good ones but the P-40 is not one of them.

Thumbs up Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

Hi Jim,
I don't have it but the picture of it sure looks cool . What's that trailing edge extension on the wing. Doesn't look like it's on the others.

Thanks,
aeroeng

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

I think that is a pic of a plastic model kit. The extension is actually the flaps in the extended position. Als notice that the canopy is open.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

That canopy does not slide open here is a real picture of this diecast.
This whole canopy comes off ...Look at all the logos on that P-40N .....
