Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

FVD - I am with you -- I have one of every Armour/FM mould except for the HE-111, Eurofighter, UH-1, and F-22. I also have 6 F-4 in 1:48 and 6 in 1:100 (inlcuding the elusive 1:100 RAF Omega version).

A Few of My Hit and Miss List
Hit: P-38
Hit: JU-52
Hit: F-4 (Why else would I have two shelves full of Phantoms)
Miss: P-40 -- not very good
Hit: Harrier
Miss: P-51
Hit: P-47
Miss: B-17 gaps too wide -- but impressive beast to look at nonetheless
Hit: B-24 (RAF version)

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

Top two, in my opinion, would be the Me262 and the P47 Thunderbolt.

You know what, had FM produced a version of the Me 262 tandem-seater "Nightfighter", I would've been all over that in an instant. The same goes for the P-38 if
they made an all black "M" nightfighter variant as well.

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

There seems to be mixed opinions on the P40, I dont have any FMs so would you FM types say that the P40 is one to leave on the shelf.

There are still some P40s that I want to buy, mostly the expensive ones so I am saving for those but should this one be on my list?

Carousel P40s are far superior than those from Franklin Mint (if we're talking 1/48 scale). Naturally, there is only one contender in the larger 1/35 scale and that has to be the exquisite GMP P40, with which you are very familiar .

I've got this one (B11B619) and like it a lot. Just not in my top ten .

I don't really care for the way that P-40 is made..
The canopy is not so good on it for one.

Re: Your favorite FM a/c moulds?

If anything, the Mitchell should have a slightly nose high attitude. This seems to be an issue with other FM tricycle gear aircraft.

Here is a real picture of the B-25.
