1:48 carrier deck

Anybody knows where to find a 1:48 deck similar to this one?. Along with a nice Hornet or Tomcat ,It would just look awesome!

Re: 1:48 carrier deck

Don't know about 1/48 as that isn't my scale but have to say I'm tempted to buy one of these, junk the crappy Dragon plane, and put that knealing CW F-14 on it.

Coldupnorth - Something like this shouldn't be too hard to do from scratch! Get a nice sheet of plywood, cut to size on a band saw or circular saw, mark & paint - the blast deflector(s) would be easy enough (plenty of photos around on Google, etc. to use as a reference) as would the observation "island". If you wanted to get REALLY creative, you could make it large enough to hold several F-14's, FA-18's, etc; either tied down, taxiing, or on custom-made "catapults"...!! - JY

Re: 1:48 carrier deck

Since buying all those CW F-14;s I have been thinking of painting over my coffee table. Have had my carrier "layout" set up on it and it looked really sweet. Just hate not having them behind glass though.

Thumbs up Re: 1:48 carrier deck

Thanks for the hint John,

I guess its going to be my last alternative. I was just trying to save up some time. I'll keep that as an Holiday project - plenty of time during Christmas's...

Cheers!

If you REALLY wanted to add on to that, you could put a room humidifier under the set-up, and turn it on. It'd give you that nice steam catapult effect...
Just make sure to cut out the slots in the catapult tracks before you try it, though.
