Hi folks,

yesterday I got myself this beauty:

B11E312 Junkers F-13 "Lufthansa" - Nachtigall Kennung: D-1

This model is limited to 600 pieces - German market release only. It's a special version produced for the Lufthansa airline, even the outer box is special (silver with Lufthansa logo).

Lenght: aprox. 8" / wingspan: aprox. 12"

Very nice metal finish! The F-13 was the first full metal airplane of the word. (so much for the historical "must-have" factor )

FM replicated the "corrugated iron" look of the original pretty good. The prop almost looks like "real" wood.

This version has the open oval windows with a smal windshield in front of them.

Retail price is 79€ ~ $106.

Overall I am very happy with the quality and look of this model!

Right! I do not collect commercial aviation either...

But this mould is new and as soon as I've seen it in a local store I had to get it.

In the future they are going to release two more versions of this iron bird:

B11E344 Junkers F-13 "Wasserflugzeug"

B11E345 Junkers F-13 Museumsversion Deutsches Museum München (This model depicts the real airplane shown in the museum)

I think I am going lay my hands on the "Wasserflugzeug" since FM does not have that many floatplanes...

From my POV its worth getting!

Looks great, I can only imagine the quality as my Ju 52 is superb. If I see an F-13 I'll buy it. Congrats guys on your new planes. Kudos to the Franklin Mint for having the guts to produce this rare bird.

Here are some shots of a plane I thought was an F-13--- but it has a radial engine. Anybody have a positive ID?

Hello - if someone like to know - all three kinds of the Junkers F-13 are available now - sorry we did't have made any new pictures till today - but you still can belive they are all spectacular in detail - like you can see the first at the photos before . the different is just that one of the nnew model is the museum version that you can see at your visit by the german museum in munich - the other one is the watermodel, that was used in the older times for oversee flights.
