Question New Armour owners??

I've heard from a variety of sources that supposedly Armour/Franklin Mint
has been bought out by yet another company. True? If so, anyone know who it is? - JY

Re: New Armour owners??

Hi John,

you mean yet again or the takeover from last year?

If the one from 2006, we discussed this in length on the forum.

Re: New Armour owners??

Hi coldupnorth and welcome to the forum,
Some people think it's good , some people bad. Might get a better product in the long run, but costs are going to rise for the most part. Here's a thread from earlier this year where this issue was discussed. Personally, I think the new company is going to work to improve the product. CLLCTR5 has a little bit of an inside connection with them and he discusses it some in the attached thread.

Thanks,
aeroeng

Re: New Armour owners??

I don't mind shelling out the cash for a good product. Just ask my wife.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: New Armour owners??

Hoping to see some fresh WWII models.

The PBY would fit their style.

Coldupnorth - Yup - Didn't see the previous discussion on this forum - I guess I should've seen that first. I just heard that FM was no longer "the man" & someone else had taken over, but no other details. - JY

Re: New Armour owners??

From that news story it sounded like they are more interested in getting back into selling celebrity collectible plates rather than diecast.
Did not sound good to me.
