P-39 Airacobra Anyone?

If FM Armour Collection would make an Airacobra, they would finally complete a collection of the most common American WWII single engine fighters represented in 1/48 scale. I so want an Airacobra in 1/48!

You would most likely see one from HobbyMaster before you saw one from FM..

Harry, curious why you think so?

Re: P-39 Airacobra Anyone?

Harry, curious why you think so?

Because, HM is already making a 1/72 version and HM is also developing their 1/48 line with uncommon aircraft or aircraft not made in any scale before (Buffalo-MkXIV Spit), so another uncommon A/C is likely..
Personally, I'd rather see a Corsair from HM, but a P-39 would be cool also, but the big question is, Would you buy more than one?? Enough to justify HM making multiple schemes???

Yeah... logical reasoning to me, and I would actually prefer an HM mold. I would buy more than one if the liveries are interesting.

While I would agree that the P-39 is not considered the most popular plane in the U.S. WWII Arsenal, I would say that it was at least as "common" as the Wildcat. According to my references, production of the P-39 reached 9,594 compared to production of the Wildcat that reached 7,808. In fact, only a few U.S. fighters significantly surpassed production of 10,000. I grant you most of the P-39's were lend-lease to Russia though. Additionally, I would love to see EI, HM, or C1 do ALL the early variants of the "common" aircraft like EI did with the P-51B and will be doing with the Razorback P-47D . C1 did the P-40B. I agree, an F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair would be awesome if done by one of those companies! How about a sleek early P-38G as well?

Re: P-39 Airacobra Anyone?

I would think that the P-39 has enough schemes out there to support a bunch of paint schemes. I would want a "Snooks 2nd" and an "Old Crow" along with a Russian version, and a P-400

Let's not forget that FOV is doing one in 1/32nd, though hopefully they won't go "ship rivets happy" with that one!
