Got this one last year on the 'bay for a measly $30... this is the version that retailed for $195 when it came out. For the price, I really like it, though I can't say I know much about "whirlybirds" Watching "We Were Soldiers" inspired me to get it, also the book "chickenhawk"...

The rivets are overdone, but otherwise I think it's quite nice.

I've got this one also and really like it. I new the rivet detail was a little exagerated, but the close up picture of the door makes them look real bad. Don't notice it near that much looking at the die-cast.

Nice Pics Pappy! I've got this one and the FM AH-64 Longbow. I think they both are awesome with all of the details and working parts (doors, stabs, etc.). And $30 for this is an excellent deal, wish I could find another for that price.

I've been eyeing the longbow, as well, there's one on the bay now for a pretty good price but it could land me in a heap of trouble with the Mrs...

I also have the Huey and I like it very much.

The FM Longbow Apache is pretty expensive, I've been looking for an affordable one quite a while now.

An alternative is the Longbow Apache from Sunstar. Its also 1/48 and comes at about $40. The only thing missing is the display stand.

The FM Longbow is officially licensed by MD so it's supposed to be the most accurate diecast of the Apache. It looks pretty good. I'll post some photos if I can dig it out of storage.

Anyway, you won't be disappointed with what FM has done with the Longbow.
