Wow, I didn't even realize the FM Wildcats were out yet -- but there they are, "in stock" at TFM.... I'd be interested in hearing about 'em myself, there must be a few folks on here with preorders in

I have been eagerly awaiting this also. No pics yet at the TFM, but will probably be coming soon. Oh where oh where is Mark? He did a disappearing act again. Mark, we need you back bad!

Pics are now posted at TFM. Lots of rivet detail on this one -- much different than C1's mold. I eagerly await everyone's impressions on this one. I didn't get a chance to look at the pictures closely or for long, but it looks promising. It would be great to have a side by side photo review with C1's Cat.

Yes, the pictures on TFM are looking pretty good, much better than the pre-pro ones I'd seen so far. I might just have to get one of these to go with my C1 "O'Hare." I think I'll wait till more liveries are available, though.

Do mine eyes deceive me, or do I actually see rivet detail on a Franklin Mint plane! *rubs eyes* Wow. There's a first. I hate to admit it, because I just swore off FM in another thread, but one of these might be worth the money. How's the cockpit detail, I can't make out anything in the TFM photos. These sure do look nice though. A comparison would be nice with the Carousel 1.

I brought pictures up of C1's Cat and FM's Cat from TFM's site and did a side by side. I believe I like FM's Cat more. Now, having said this, the pictures are relatively small, so I too would like a terrific photo comparison. Mark can do it. Pappy can do it. JP can do it. I am sure there are plenty out there who can. Mark may be in the best position to do it (but then again it sounds like he is so busy these days, maybe not). Listen to me! I am trying to spend Pappy's and JP's money!! Sorry guys.

Elmer,

Hope you are sitting down.

I like C1's better!

TFM's does not seem to have pilot name, step area, and the rivet detail to me looks a little obnoxious. I also see a bit too much of a gap near the engine cowling.

I'm a big Butch O'Hare fan so I really like how C1 honored him specifically.

Wonders never cease.

Talking Re: FM F4F Wildcat vs. Carousel 1 F4F Wildcat

I like them both . I'm leaning toward the Red Rippers one which is already low stock at TFM. But I think like FVD, I might wait till there are more paint schemes out.
