What do you think of FM's A-10?

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 being the worse model produced by FM and 5 among the best), how do you rate FM's A-10? Is the overall mold correct? Any glaring gaps, seams, or exposed screw heads?

Also, which models, if any, have pad printed graphics rather than water slide decals?

Re: What do you think of FM's A-10?

I give it a off the chart...10...The A-10 PA "Let's Roll" is the best A-10 in the fleet imho.
The detail on this bird is awesome.
The Flying Tigers A-10 is a close 2nd too.
The Let's Roll A-10 has no waterslide decals on that bird at all...At least my doesn't.

Thumbs up Re: What do you think of FM's A-10?

I also have the Flying Tigers version and love it. I think the A-10 is Franklin Mint's best jet.

Re: What do you think of FM's A-10?

Elmer,

Whatever you do, DO NOT (!!!!!) look underneath an FM A-10 model. I would fear for your life... Heart attack or something.... There are, count them, EIGHT, yes eight (!!!!!!!!!) exposed screw heads on the bottom, 4 on centerline (recessed) and 2 inside each main wheel well (not so recessed).

Please sir, put that model down and step away from it... for your own safety.

FVD

PS: I personally think it's a very good model, certainly on of FM's best for modern jets. I have the "Flying Tigers" European cammo version)

Well FVD, I sure wouldn't want a heart attack! Thanks for warning me... man, you saved my life. When it arrives I will first dope up on aspirin and nitro, and maybe even several beers before I look at it. BTW, do you think the tiger's mouth is pad printed or decaled?

Re: What do you think of FM's A-10?

I just received the Flying Tigers A-10. It is a nice model with an awesome livery.

A word of caution... MD's is all pad-printed; mine is not. Mine has a mixture of decals and pad-printed graphics. The face (eyes and mouth), Hell's Angels emblem, and TAC emblem are all decals. The national insignia and tail number are pad printed. I hate to think of re-decaling this thing if the mouth and eyes start to peel.

Re: What do you think of FM's A-10?

I thought I had read that some of the early ones had the declas. Mine is pad printed. I hope you still like it.
