What do you think of FM's MiG 15?

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 being the worse model produced by FM and 5 among the best), how do you rate FM's MiG 15? Is the overall mold correct? Any glaring gaps, seams, or exposed screw heads? (looking at some pictures it looks like it has some nice detail--also, some models appear to sit correct nose high, while others appear to sit incorrect nose low... can anyone speak to this?)

I have one, and I think it sits just a tad bit nose low, but not enough for me not to have bought one knowing that. Looks great on display with my F-86,

I haven't got one yet. I'm thinking about getting this one (B11E073). Everyone I've looked at at the Hobby shop has been nose low (including the Mig-17's). I still think they look really cool.

Yes, that's so true. About the only way to display the Migs should be in flight mode.

My MiG-15 sits pretty level, so I'm happy with it and would give it a 4. It's nice although panel/rivet detail could be better (as on many FM/Armour efforts). It's a very nice complement to the F-86s I have.

The MiG-17 on the other hand is significantly nose-low and that really bothers me to no end. Too bad because otherwise it would be a nice model. I've thought about ways to modify it by shortening the main gear (that's were the problem lies), but no easy way to do it I'm afraid... For now it's relegated to a bottom shelf were the problem is not too apparent to the casual observer.

That's exactly what I did with my FM B-25 Ruptured Duck after coming to the conclusion that there was no practical fix for it....Guess this "nose down/butt high" syndrome must be common with FM trike-gear aircraft...

Yeah. They apparently model the main gear with extended struts (as it would be before landing) as opposed to compressed as it should be on the ground. A really stupid, elementary mistake. I can't believe they can't figure this out.

It doesn't bother me quite as much on the B-25 (the real thing sometimes seems to be in some pictures to have a very, very slight nose down attitude on the ground, though not as pronounced as the FM model). But on the MiG-17 it just looks really weird (the real thing is slighty nose-up on the ground).

Which MiG 15 do you have?

Looking at the profile shots at the Flying Mule, it appears some sit better than others, although it could be the angle of the shoot.

I have the bare-metal one with North Korean markings ("079").

Any visible screw heads in this one?
