those silly wing tanks on the Phantom

So, has FM actually fixed the gaff with the wrong (obscenely large) wingtip fuel tanks on the F-4s...

The "MiG Killer" in this auction looks to have the right size tanks? The Wild Weasal and Coe F-4 I have (both FM releases, not CDC) have the ugly tanks... if they have corrected this, you would think one could contact them and ask for replacement sets?? (I've seen previous releases of the model in this auction with the wrong tanks, too, I believe... and my CDC original of this same model doesn't have any tanks at all)

I apologize if this is old news, but if it is -- I just crawled out from under my rock...

Well that ebay photo looks like better tanks to me.... The Wild Weasel one didn't look right either.
I'll be getting my Olds Mig Killer on Friday so i hope it looks like that one does.

Re: those silly wing tanks on the Phantom

Wow, that's the first time I see a CDC/FM/Armour F-4s with those tanks. They are way better, but still NQR ('not quite right") in their shape. However, I could live with those, it's very close. I could never live with the center-line fuel tanks on the wings (I'm sure they can be broken off. I had to do that on my A-10's silly-looking fuel tanks).

My 3 CDC/FM F-4s have no tanks.

Re: those silly wing tanks on the Phantom

I got my Olds Mig Killer a couple months ago and it has the large tanks like this photo. I'm sure it would be easy to remove them because when I got mine one of the tanks was loose in the box. It had two small tits (where's Skunky ) that pressed into the wing, so I put it back in place and no glue was necessary.
