Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

I copied this from ebay to show what I meant about a box and cross on the tail.

The seller usually does this on the pic because the Swastika isn't allowed on Ebay, but the plane shoudn't have that..

Man, BigMo, thanks for pointing this out. This is completely unacceptable. I was thinking about getting this model sometime, but now, I don't think so.

But mhackl's pictures at the start of this thread had the correct markings (as pointed out by CLLTR5), so what gives?

Boy... FM/As arrive with all kinds of wonderful surprises don't they. I wonder if this was a promotional piece or a model intended for a European market? I guess a dealer will have to explain this one.

Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

I think it might had been one of those QA/QC fudge ups. I'm debating weather to send back beings I'm out here. Hate to pay postage. I'll talk to the dealer and see if
he has more and to checkem while he's at it.

Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

What the heck was that?

Well, I know that there are "sanitized" models without the swastika for the german market (the part numbers start with G11 instead of B11) but this bird is really a shame!
In Germany the public display of swastikas or similar icons is forbidden by federal law. If you get caught with one there is hell to pay!

But on the other hand you can import FM/A with swastikas and display them at your home.

So why the heck didn't they simply do that plane without any swastika or wannabe swastika?!

Just my 2 cents...

There were (2) of these at the Hobby Shop by my house and they both had swasticas. I think Elmer's probably correct about it being a promotional model.

I tend to agree with that argument as well. It's probably one way for FM to circumvent the laws that prohibit the sale of "NAZI" marked merchandise.

Hey Armour Addict you are right just looked at the Franklin Mint white shell box and it has marked in marker G11E198. The site had them listed as B11E198, email sent to dealer hopefully I get an exchange.
