Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

Guys, I need some opinions here since I'm not really a bomber collector. Of the He-111s available from FM, which do you recommend? I don't want the desert livery, but of the remaining three? I'm gonna take the plunge for one, but only one.

Thanks in advance!

TopHat....I have seen the FM one and it's really nice "New Tooling" 1:48 scale wingspan is 17" and length is 13.5".
But if you like the 1:48 scale that FM one is nice and heavy plus that's a rare bird to get one with German markings like that.
The one Mark just posted is causing me to want that one even more and all i have is 1:72nd bombers so far.
Well i do have a B-26 Flak Bait that would look good next too it.

Thanks Starman. I really like the one that was pictured in this thread. I feel my wallet getting lighter already.

Wow! I have made no secret of the fact that I am not an FM fan. Nevertheless, its He-111 looks great! How long have these been out? Is this a new 2007 tooling? Can anyone post pics of the undersides?

Thumbs up Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

Is this a new 2007 tooling?

They first came out in 2006. This was always one of my favorite German planes growing up.

A St. Louis area dealer who sells FM/Armour/Minichamps models. I just wondered if you got yours there. I do. Where do you buy locally (btw, I live in STL as well)?

I buy at Mark Twain Hobby Center in St.Charles. They have a good sale every now and then during the summer. They're usually pretty competitive with the popular web sites prices during the sales. On some items they can't meet the internet prices, so I still order every once in a while off the internet. I like buying at their shop because they let me take the model out of the box and inspect it before I buy it.

I'll try, I personally don't have this one yet so I can't shoot it this weekend. I'll go over to the warehouse on Monday and see if I can't snag one and shoot it for you.

Re: B11E198 Heinkel He-111 KG.53

Mark... from your outstanding pictures, I am nearly convinced, however, I gotta know if there are any exposed screw heads anywhere in the undersides, including wheel wells? Anyone who has one... ?

Many of the FM/As I've seen have exposed screw heads... I hate them... especially if they are not recessed and can't be filled and touched up with paint... they are deal killers for me.

That would be awsome. Thanks in advance.
