F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

I just had to show you mates these pictures of the FM F-4 Phantom Wild Weasel i got from that 50% off sale.
This is really a great looking Phantom i have it sitting along with my "Showtime 100" F4J.
It's all printed tampo no decals on this one either.
What makes it a great find is that these are no longer made and yet they had 1 left.
Enjoy the pics.

Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

That is my favorite FM phantom by far -- congrats on the find!

I just wish they got the tanks on the wings right, but it's still a great model -- the CDC version didn't have the tanks, but it had a good amount of sticker decals. I've got both and am planning to do a comparision for the site one of these days. I recently picked up this same model a huge discount, too.

One site's got it listed for $160!

The one that I really want is the one that has the Vietnam camo scheme on it, with the sharks mouth. I can't find it anywhere. I have Showtime 100 and the Olds F-4.

Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

Yea i know i don't like the looks of the tanks either.
They cost that much.. Wow i got this for a cool 45.
I think i'm done buying the Phantoms in 1:48 they are taking a little more room than i thought they would.

That's the first FM F-4 I picked up -- "Richard Coe" -- I have it, the Showtime 100, Wild Weasel, and Olds. I am thinking of adding the Luftwaffe camo F-4 and then stopping with that one... They do take up a lot of room, particularly the boxes!

Perry's has the Coe -- $120, though.

Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

I have 3 FM/CDC F-4s, but not that one. I was disappointed that it wasn't an F-4G Wild Weasel. True, the 52FW at Spangdahlem did fly for a while with a mix of G and E models, but the true Wild Weasels were the Gs. At least they could have put some HARM missiles on it (I modded my FM 52FW F-16 with HARMs myself, by the way).

And those thanks...tsk, tsk

Too bad, because that cammo pattern is really excellent. Which explains the appeal of this model despite its shortcomings.
