Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

You're sitting on gold with that Royal Navy Rhino. Saw one go for ~ $250.00 on the bay just a week ago or so.

That and my VF-51 Screaming Eagles CAG Phantom are the pride of my Armour collection as far as scarcity.

Wow, I had no idea. But I'm not letting mine go. I like it too much. One of my favorite liveries in F-4s, or on any modern aircraft for that matter.

Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

Well guys, the Phantom is my all time favorite military jet and 1/48 is my scale of choice, so guess what jet is the cornerstone, so to speak, of my CDC/FM Armour Collection collection? I currently have 21 1/48 scale AC Phantoms in my collection with Ritchie's F4D and a 2006 German market only JG 74 Special markings F4F on order. I'm trying to collect every Phantom that Armour Collection has produced and will continue to purchase any 1/48 F4 that they produce, in order to keep my collection complete. I could submit at least 20 more Phantom schemes to FM for them to produce--about 10 years worth of production at 2 per year. --Happy collecting, markko

Awesome Markko -- do you have them all on display? Would love to see shots of 'em if so, as that would pretty impressive ... Got any images of the JG 74 bird you can post?

Welcome to the funny farm, BTW

Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

markko, welcome to the forum from a relative newbie (myself)...

What I want to say first is that it's great to have another 1/48 collector with us. There aren't that many on the forum, at least not like some of us who try to concentrate on that scale. So that's real nice!

And I'd love to see pictures of your Phantom lineup! It's got to be awesome. I only have 3 CDC/FM F-4s myself, although I'll be getting Showtime 100 any time now. But I love them (and apparently I'm told I have a rare one, the Royal Navy FG1). Just can't figure out why FM decided to put belly tanks (600 Gals) on the wings of some of them, versus the 370 Gals tanks that would be accurate. None of mine have them, I'll tell you that!

Anyway, looking forward to finding out more about your collection (F-4s and otherwise). And again, welcome 1/48 collector!

Yeah, it's me, but that was a few years ago. Boy, I do miss it.

My previous avatar, BTW, was my aircraft at Hahn, Germany, in the late 80s (tail #840274), although I was not flying it on the day the picture was taken. When I say "my airplane," all that means is that my name was painted on the canopy frame, nothing more.

That has got to be hard ....Not doing that everyday like you use too do.
My bro was going to retire after this year but they ask him to stay on longer so he did ...How could he not...It's too fun.
I need to get a list of all the good Phantoms made by FM..I want to know if that F4 Phantom USAF Thunderbird is pad printed as well or did they use decals on it.
I think that one my be the old Armour one.

Stinger: Maverick, you just did an incredibly brave thing. What you should have done was land your plane! You don't own that plane, the tax payers do! Son, your ego is writing checks your body can't cash. You've been busted, you lost your qualifications as section leader three times, put in hack twice by me, with a history of high speed passes over five air control towers, and one admiral's daughter!
Goose: Penny Benjamin?
[Maverick shrugs]

I couldn't resist. Sorry.

Cool Re: F4 Phantom Wild Weasel 1:48

Very nice model Starman. Cool pics too. Pity no-one is making the F4 E/F/Gs in 1/72 yet. Don't do 1/48 but that is one cool Phantom.
