Re: B11E069 - Nakajima A6M2-N "Rufe" Floatplane

It's common knowledge the Rufe is an almost direct bolt for bolt copy of Vought's Kingfisher. When Matchbox's 1/5 scale Kingfisher comes out later this year, I'll post my "Converting Your Kingfisher to a Purple Rufe" article. I'm just finishing my kit of their test shot, complete with their Pacific Rim diorama base, and the fit is good.

I think Ara1 has his planes mixed up.. The Rufe is a bolt for bolt copy of a A6M Zero, but the Kingfisher is a totally different airplane.. About the only two things they have in common is that they both have a radial engine and they both float..

Re: B11E069 - Nakajima A6M2-N "Rufe" Floatplane

Did a search on eBay and none of these were to be found...any idea where to get one of these???? I probably would be interested, unless it would cost me a 'nut' or two.

Hey, Mike, I just got one today in a shop in Dusseldorf, Germany, which Armour Addict was kind enough to bring me to. I love it, it's now displayed with my Marushin Japanese planes and fits right in. A very nice model.

Unfortunately they only had one...

But anyway, the 1/48 bug has really gotten to you, or what?
