Re: Franklin to introduce 07 products sometime next week.

Hi everybody, I am a new member
The news of the Mirage should raise quite a bit of interest this side of the Atlantic, though, and bring more support for FM - if done right !

The Mirage is a model many collectors here want, as it has been sadly neglected by manufacturers.

Welcome to the TMH, UK F4 fan. Glad you've joined us in this asylum!

I'm with you with the Mirage models. I'm very happy now that it's on FM's radar screen and I look forward to adding it to my collection. I hope we'll get some interesting liveries for this beautiful delta winged jet fighter. It is as ubiquitous as the Mig 21, and it's finally getting it's due recognition in the diecast arena.

Looks like they have a limited edition P-51C 'Berlins Express' so they obviously did a little bit to the p51 mold. also they are releasing 'BIG DICK' from the 78th FG that I mentioned before.

Yeah, from the pics of the C it looks like they updated the gear doors -- but the new P-51D still has the high-waters

I might just get P-51C but i think it's a limited signed 1/48 right ?

Thanks Pappy, love your site.

The B-26 does look super. Good photos; I espcially like the head on shot. The anhedral of the wings and dihedral of the tail is well captured.

What's your favorite diecast Corsair version in 1/48?

Thanks Ara!

I really do like the B-26. What I can't figure out is why some FM models have lots of sticker decals, and others are all pad-printed??? It's driving me nuts I tell ya, nuts! And this b-26 has metal props, but my b-25 has plastic...

As for the Corsair question, there really ain't much to choose from in 1:48 -- I don't count Yat Ming, or the plastic stuff (though there is a 1:48 plastic corsair you can get at wal-mart that looks pretty good... maker escapes me, but you can find info around here with a search... )

I have FM/CDC's LuLubelle, which is just okay to me -- the mold is just entirely too fat from the cowling back to the aft portion of the fuselage behind the cockpit, to me at least. The lines just look... off. Fairly nice paint job, though, and I'll never get rid of mine as it was a gift from my wife -- I can always point to it and say "you started my addiction" :-)

I have several of Speccast's 1:48 or are they 1:45 corsairs, and call me crazy, but I actually prefer the lines of them to FM's. If you could combine the two, you'd have a decent model I got these in the late 90's when they were the only game in town in this scale.

We really need someone to step up and deliver a nice 1:48 Corsair -- I hope HM tackles it, as we'll probably get folding wings... Or Eagles International.

Right now the best Corsairs are in 1:72 -- and I like Dragons better than anyone elses at the moment.
