Question Re: Franklin to introduce 07 products sometime next week.

Hey Diecast Ace,

I too like Spec Cast's Corsairs, I have two. Love them except for under the wings, you know what I'm talking about. The bottoms of the wings simply don't exist. You don't mention this in your reviews, though. Maybe your SC Corsairs are different?

I love the "handleability" of the SC Corsair. It feels right. The glossy dark blue is gorgeous. And the pad printed Naval Reserve markings? Perfect.

Regarding stickers on Franklin Mint offerings, I own about eight FM's and there are no stickers. The best quality FM I own is their Ju 52, 1935 Lufthansa version w/ spatted gear. Simply stunning.

Regarding metal props, my FAA Hellcat, B-24 Coastal Command, C-47 D-Day and Ju 52 all have metal props. Same with my P-40. My Ju 87G has a plastic prop, as my Mosquito. Not sure of my B-25.

I have located a site that sells discounted FMs, including the Big Hairy Bird. I may go ahead and pick one up, although my supressed desire is to get a 6 plane livery going of variously schemed DC-3s-- Berlin Airlift, Air Transport Command, Eastern Airlines, etc. I love the FM DC-3's. Love that wing!

Take it easy.

Ara - You mentioned a website that sells discounted Armour/FM's - are you able to reveal it? John

Red face Re: Franklin to introduce 07 products sometime next week.

Aeroeng - Thank you. Feel free (anybody!!) to "rearrange" my photos to a more vertical line-up. I'm new to this thread-posting business, and am still struggling with the frustrations of "computer nuances"... - if you or anybody out there wishes to "rearrange" these for me, feel free - I'm kind of embarrassed, actually... - HA! Cheers, John

Hey Johnny, you had it just about right, you just have to make sure to press enter between each picture and between pictures and lines of text, otherwise they get a bit bunched up. You can use the edit button to go back in and fix 'em up just how you like!

Great pics of yer Phantom by the way!

You know what I'd really REALLY want to see from FM is a 1/48th Mig-21 so that I can complete my Nam-era dogfighting jets! I've paired up the Mig-17 to Showtime 100 F-4J, now I just needed a Mig-21 PF of the VPAF to go up against Robing Olds F-4!

Yeah, FlyXwire, I'm entirely with you here!

About 3 or 4 years ago, there were rumours that they would do one (Su-27 was also rumoured at the time), but nothing ever came out of that. Seems such an obvious model to make. However, if they botched it up like they did their Mirage III, I'd be so disappointed again...

Hey John,

Sorry, my source, Joe Pilot, has raised their prices. Now it's back to searching physical retailers for selection and discounts. "Cause once you've got 'em low, it's the only way to go.

Really sucks because Joe Pilot was my last stopover to purchase some FM birds but got pre-emted by the price hikes the day I was to place some orders! Oh well....
