New pics Swiss 109g from FM/Armour

B11E334
Have the other 1/48 one in Swiss markings and paid nearly full price

Yes, the old full price.... Now I see the motorpool has this little gem which looks like that elusive little bugger I always wanted in 1/100. These red and white markings sure would stand out in the display case.

What about you Cardinal??

Re: New pics Swiss 109g from FM/Armour

Man, why bother with the camo at all if you're going to paint all those bulls-eye style insignia all over your plane

Interesting scheme, just makes one wonder about how smart a scheme it was

(And if it makes you feel any better about the full price thing, I paid $100 for my Doolittle B-25 right after FM bought CDC... and I paid an average of $40-50 for all my Speccast ... ah well...)

I guess being a Neutral, it was rather important to be seen, and not mistaken for a German .

Actually it does! I feel great now!

Well, how were we supposed to know!?!?!?! Any chance they'll be worth triple that someday? Eh, I like 'em anyway...

It sure looks like a target.....you can see a plane like that for miles.
It's not a bad looking plane just a tad too much red.

That was the idea.. The Swiss flew many different planes (mostly impounded, some actually purchased) including P-51s and others.. The markings are for broad recognition..

Yeah, but I still say why bother with the camo at all -- make the whole thing red -- now that would be something

I think Udet had an all red 109E... and I've heard about an all red Me 163 Komet.

Here's a cool trifecta- FM's all red Hurricane, 109E, and P-38 on the same shelf.
