That is very cool. Love the paint scheme.

Re: What Franklin's Mig should have looked like.

I have to say 1/48 is THE scale. I know that everyone will dismiss the notion, but so much detail can be put in that size of model. I say that with detail possibilities and with a much smaller footprint that 1/32nd, it's perfect.

It's pretty much the only scale of model that I'll build. I'm really surprised that that has never translated into diecast. Everyone seems to clamber for 1/32nd though. It’s hard for me to figure this hobby out sometimes.

Oh, I did forget about Eagles International but they don't have enough stuff to support my habit.

I like 1/48th myself. But I found that I don't stick to just one scale.

Hey, the back end of it fell off....He must have used Elmers instead of cyanoacrylate...Too bad, I'll bet it could have one an award...

Re: What Franklin's Mig should have looked like.

That's kind of a cool looking paint scheme on that Mig there.
I get it if it looks that good.

Talking Re: What Franklin's Mig should have looked like.

That is a great job! I believe that is the Tamiya 1/48 kit, which is superb, and an easy build for even a beginner. I highly recommend the Tamiya kits in general for those of you who want something different in their collection. And they do a wonderful 48th Swordfish... As much as I love the die cast models I have been collecting for the last few years the industry as a whole has certainly put a dent in the model kit industry.
So as a model maker myself let me try to encourage those of you who collect to take a whack at building something unusual, not produced in diecast. There are soooo many great, easy to build kits out there, which, if you start with a less complicated paint job can be simple and fun projects! My current active project is the Hobbycraft B-36 in 144th scale, which I hope will fit in nicely w/ my Corgi 144th collection.
Build more models!!!

I want!! I want!! I hope someone makes a diecast to that detail because I know I don't have the skill to build something like that.

I will set aside any complaints on the mould.

The livery is crap, probably it never existed.
FM should have shown their respect to the collector by at least writing the billboard text on the fuse in Chinese, and not those "dead mosquitoes" blasted on the side of the model.

At the prices this models sell, FM could have done some research and show some dignity!
