Re: 1:16 Tiger Tank #85204

Just saw one of these in the flesh.
Damn they are awesome!
The figures that come with them are very nice and the crate is huge.
On the spot I put my order in for the Wittmann Tiger.....sold!

Re: 1:16 Tiger Tank #85204

I just unpacked this tiger, and if your on the fence about getting this one go for it. They won't be around long. I know this is pricey, but if you look around the web you can find it at a good price. I have the first two 1/16 King Tiger II , their O.K., but the Wittmann Tiger I is AWESOME . I've heard people who got one are doubling up on this one. I did . Man, I.ve got it bad .

Re: 1:16 Tiger Tank #85204

I saw two of these things in downtown Glasgow. They had a price-tag of £299.99 each.

I saw, I thought, I left!

Even if I had the room to display one, and I have a big flat, you can't just leave it at one type. It would have to go on, and on, and on...........

I'll stick to 1.72

Hi IXEC,

I'm considering getting the FOV King Tiger (and hopefully later the Tiger I). I'm curious as to why you think the King Tiger is only 'okay', as compared to the Tiger I being 'awesome'?

Are there any inaccuracies with the King Tigers, is the paint job bad, are they fragile or some such?

Cheers,
Soren

Hello Soren,

IMHO, I'd say the first two Tiger II's were over weathered. The boggies and fenders have lots of ' mudding ' effect. It kind of takes away from some of the finer details. On the other hand having a full interior, is very good. IMHO i'd say the second Tiger II is the better one of the two.

The new Wittmann Tiger I doesn't have the muddied boggies and fenders. They are lightly weathered, and the painting is good to. The zimmerit effect looks good as well. The only inaccuracies I can see are very minor and don't distract an overall great Tiger I. I paid $300.00US +$25.00 shipping. The retailer that gave me that price sold out months ago with preorders. I know the HobbyBunker in Massachusetts, has two in stock. He's asking $450.00US, but he has a ' won't be undersold policy ' if you show him a printed advertised cheaper price, and it must be in stock at time of advertisment .

I'm very happy with the two ( one for future sale or trade ) Wittmann Tiger I's I purchased. Now if FOV can come out with a full interior Tiger I or a Jadgtiger the same way, I can't say no .

Cheers, Paul

Re: 1:16 Tiger Tank #85204

I have version 2 of the KT and am very pleased with it, especially for the price that was able to get on-line and with free shipping.

During Christmas (when it was too late to order and have delivered for Christmas) I saw the Tiger 1 on-line and for sale for just under $300 (retail is said to be $500). I was tempted at that time. However, that was still a good bit of coin and the value compared to the KTs appears to be less. Now if they had retained the full interior, the extra figures and the cool wooden crate...

Re: 1:16 Tiger Tank #85204

Hello
I have the first 1/16 KT and it looks good. What I don't like is the amount of plastic used......the whole hull is plastic.

How much plastic does the Tiger 1 have

Re: 1:16 King Tiger - track problem

Hello,
I have just been looking at my 1/16 King Tiger. I noticed that the left track was longer than the right. I have had to take a link out to make them even. I alway thought that one track looked baggy.
