1/72 Grant @ Target

So I just ran across the action grade Grant at Target on the west coast. Very nice, but the enthusiast grade looks much better. I've never seen this one before at Target and wonder if it just worked its way into an odd assortment, or if this is a sign of things to come much sooner than expected?

Re: 1/72 Grant @ Target

I found it in my local target, too. However, not much people is picking the M3 up, I guess this has something to do with its color.

I hope FOV will make a all green version of it in the future.

Re: 1/72 Grant @ Target

I found the Grant in my local Target store tonight as well as restock on the German halftrack with rockets and M113.

Re: 1/72 Grant @ Target

I picked up the Hobby store version of the Grant a while back because I couldn't wait for the Target version. (I have the Target versions of the Tiger; King Tiger; and SU -22(?))

This is the first model (the Grant) - imo - that is really worth the extra couple bucks for the Hobby Store version. The paint on the Target version just doesn't look near as good as the "upgraded" version. For all the previous 1:72 FOV armor, I just didn't see a significant difference in the ranges. It was a "no brainer" for me to pick up the Target versions.

Just not very impressed with the Target version of the Grant - and (unless it goes on very low clearance) will not be picking this one up.

Also, I noticed last week that some of the new FOV 1:72 stuff is showing up at Toys R Us - i.e. Dragon wagon(?) - big flatbed transport (not a big armor enthusiast).

FOV 1:72 at Toys R Us? Horray!!!

Re: 1/72 Grant @ Target

I'll be checking " Toys R'Us " here to see if I can find ANY FOV stuff! Alough they exist here in the U.K. as an entity, they seem to shy clear of any " War Toys " and offer boys ( and girls ) play options characterised by pink fairies and green wizards.

What will future generations of men do when faced by an implacable foe who threatens them? Will they cast a spell which will invoke the curse of the Pink Fairies, or will they remember all that training they had playing war games in the woods with hundreds of their pals waging mock-war on each-other?

Oh, that's right, playing war-games is not P.C. now. I guess we'll have to rely on the Pink Fairies.

Glad to hear that the Dragon Wagon has turned up. We've not seen it on this side of the pond, thus far!

Don't worry Mo there is always the broken stick innocently picked up while walking and suddenly transformed into spear/sword/missile/etc.

I am always amazed by my boys ability to find the most harmless object and then proceed to beat their brothers with it, inflicting as much pain and suffering as possible on the unsuspecting victim before said object is quickly confiscated. Whereas friends girls will just get on and make daisy chains.

Ooops!

Re: 1/72 Grant @ Target

All the newer 1/72 Forces of Valor vehicles showed up at my Target today. 2 days ago they had nothing, or at least nothing out on the shelf. The Dragon Wagon is very nice but lacks any weathering, the tires are very "show room" shiny. After a little weathering with MIG pigments they should look just fine though.
