Re: Forces of Valor 2007 releases NOW W/PICS

Thanks for the pics Harry! Of course, I'm really dying to see the 105...does it come with crew? The Dragon Wagon looks fantastico, as do all those riders on the 32 scale stuff. I really love the quality of FOV's figs packaged with the vehicles...they separate figure sets are a whole different issue. Wish they would redo those.

Re: Forces of Valor 2007 releases NOW W/PICS

Thanks, hworth, that looks very interesting.

Don't you think that the figures in the ( admittedly fuzzy ) pic look like Germans?

I'm sure that they're not. But still, ..........

Given the poor examples which FOV have produced as standing figures, I had hoped to see some improvement. They can be replaced, of course, but when we finally get dedicated figures, and so many collectors yearn for them, it would be nice to get presentable ones.

Momo, you are indeed right. The figures shown there are Germans and the same ones as released last year.

Hey folks,
I know I might be getting ahead of myself, but any idea when these hit the shelves? Is it safe to presume the 1:72's won't start to show before Christmas?

Just wondering why there isn't a diecast WWII submarine model ? That is what i'm waiting for.

Re: Forces of Valor 2007 releases NOW W/PICS

I think that scale and interest are the problems here, roh_kudos.

In 1.72 scale, it might be possible for a firm like FOV to issue, let's say, a U-Boat as a waterline model. This would not be too difficult, given that there is not much top-hamper showing when a sub is viewed from sea-level. Also, the freeboard is minimal, ccompared to a sub's actual dimensions.

Revell, now a German kit manufacturer, have recently issued 3 sub kits in 1.72 scale ( 2 German and 1 US ) which are very good kits. I asked to look in the boxes the last time I visited the model shop.

Length of a waterline model, fully built, would be about 45 centimeters or about 19 or 20 inches.

Interesting project for someone to work on because these figures are just off the top of my head.
