Re: New 1/72s are out

Another Mustang and Spitfire - unbelievable. I just can't imagine these selling. I would love to be working for one of these companies and in a meeting, suggest a Judy, Me 410, Kingfisher, etc. Six months later I would be smoking a big cigar in the bosses office on such a brilliant decision.

I would be first to light that cigar of yours Dan.

God Bless America.

Mustang and Spitfire may have a better chance of selling in Target or Wal-Mart though.

I don't like reggae. I love it.

Re: New 1/72s are out

I've seen an AVG P40 in a FoV brochure. It's listed as a repaint and does look good. I wouldn't mind that P40B. The brochure also shows a B26 Marauder, I wonder whether that one will be any better than the previous one. I heard lots of complaints regarding QC issues.

Hey ZS. I've got the P40 and it's a nice enough model. Also have the B26 and it's crap - paint missing in places, parts missing, other parts fall off. I suspect that there is a wide variation is quality in the FOV line, but unless you want to take a chance, I'd suggest saving your money until a quality manufacturer like Hobby Master or maybe even Corgi release one ;-)

Re: New 1/72s are out

Saw both the Mustang ant he Spit in our local TrU tonight.

Both came with gear down and cowlings fitted. Both models had quality issues.

Ooops!

The spit had the gear down and cowling fitted? Mine certainly didn't! Sounds like someones been sneaking some out of the boxes...

Re: New 1/72s are out

The "Action Series" commonly found in retail outlets like Target and Wal-Mart come without landing gear options. They're fixed down and don't have the extras (like fuel tanks and bombs).

The "Enthusiast Editions" that you can generally only get through hobby stores and internet orders comes all of the options (gear, cowling, payload, plastic stand).

Both editions have quality control issues.
