Re: FOV Tomcats

Does anyone know where I can find alternate weapons sets for the FOV 1/72nd F-14 Tomcats? I have the VF-154 Black Knights F-14A, which came with an air-to-air configuration (plus a TARPS pod). I'd like to find a set w/LANTIRN pod and GBU's, if possible, that would be compatible w/FOV F-14s...any such animal? Thanks.

Re: FOV Tomcats

Stuff from Century would most likely fit, but they don't sell anything separately. Also, you'd need to replace the wing pylons (well, 1 of them) to put a LANTIRN on.

Re: FOV Tomcats

Thanks for the advice...I thought I could use the existing pylon for a LANTIRN pod, but there must've been some modification done to it for the pod; I'll do further research. Oh well, it still looks nice with the air-to-air weapons attached.

Re: FOV Tomcats

Each type of weapon has its own pylon adapter for an F-14's wing. There's a Sidewinder adapter (really just a rail), a Sparrow adapter (ends angled in), a Phoenix adapter (rear end vertica, front angled out), and a LANTIRN adapter (rear end vertical, front angled in).

Century makes Sparrow (left and right), Phoenix (left only), and LANTIRN (right only). And they're molded onto the wing pylon itself, which is glued to the wing glove. It's the one weapon part of a Century/FoV Tomcat that's not easily changed.
