Talking Zero from Target

Hello everybody

I just found this site two days ago and I got a lot of info.
I already had the Corsair and thought it was neat and today took a trip and saw both the zero and hurricane and got them no B-26,B-25.
Are there any modifacation i could do to them for more detail?

Thanks Mike

Re: Zero from Target

Welcome to the Forum, V12Man! There are plenty of people here that can, and I'm sure will, give you hints on modifications, but I'm NOT one of them.

Re: Zero from Target

V12man,
Welcome to the asylum. There are plenty of folks around here who can build models that you will swear can fire up and sly right off their shelfs. What don't you like about your bird that you think needs to be fixed?

Re: Zero from Target

Welcome to the forum V12man. I'm curious...what sort of modification do you have in mind?

Re: Zero from Target

The easiest modification is to buy a Dragon Warbirds Zero. It is the best one in 1/72 scale in my opinion.

I have the Dutch Sea Fury. Here are my comments and photos from a while back:
The aircraft modeled flew for the Dutch Navy's 860 Squadron. 860 Squadron got its start in the Second World War flying Swordfish off escort carriers. They operated the Sea Fury off their post war carrier Karl Doorman. Actually there were two Karl Doormans, one the former HMS HMS Nairana and the second the much larger HMS Venerable of the Colossus class. The later ship ended her career in the Argentine navy as Veinticinco de Mayo. 860 Squadron is now responsible for the helicopters based on Dutch warships.

This is my first Witty model- well actually got two others that I'll photograph later but this is the first I've looked at closely. The biggest problem is the prominent seam line between the wings and fuselage.

Overall it is not up to the standard set by the recent Corgi Swordfish and Gladiator releases but as it comes in about 30-40% less in the dollar department I'm willing to cut them some slack. I suspect most collectors will prefer the UK marked versions that are out there as they are more the classic Sea Fury and saw combat in Korea.

Re: Zero from Target

I've got the 805 Squadorn #109 Sea Fury, and I think it is a very nice airplane.

But compared to Ships Dutch Sea Fury, well I just don't know. All I can say is that Witty should have Ships photograph all their airplanes, because these are some of the best photos I have ever seen.
