white hurricane

was in the local Target (Serramonte,Ca.) and decided to check if they had the white Zero. they didn't but they did have 2 white hurricanes. I bought one, my 4th hurricane, and i must say it looks very detailed and cool on display.

Re: white hurricane

I had seen those at Target off and on for the past year but decided against buying one. Then after reading how scarce they are from other members on this forum, I saw one this past week and decided to just go for it. Glad to hear you like yours.

Re: white hurricane

Always check my local Target about twice a week. Today they had 2 White Hurricanes and picked up the nicest of the pair. The one I left had the outter left cannon barrel cockeyed to the left, but had a slightly better paint job on the inside tail fin. Should of bought that one too and traded or sold it. In the past 2 + years looking at Target, this was the only time I have seen the White Hurricane. Looks very nice and Corgi doesn't make a all-white one as of yet either. Can't beat the price of $12.99 + tax either.
Also in Target, there was a Dragon Wagon (I have 2 already) in 1/72 as well as some of the WWII soldier sets for $5.95. I have about 8 of these sets with German, American and British forces. These are actually pretty nice and they all come with extra items like, push carts, lamp posts, telephone poles, gas cans, anti-tank pieces, etc.

Re: white hurricane

I saw a single white hurricane and two each of the Zero,P-40 B/C and Me262 at a newly opened TARGET store in my area. I was hoping that store would have the 1/72nd scale bombers (B-25 and B-26) but I haven't heard nor read any reports elsewhere if they'll ever stock those diecasts, though.

Re: white hurricane

Found mine at the museum of flight in Scotland.

Have the black one too.

Tried to get the other sea hurricane the did but when i purchased it on ebay I found out that FOV had duplicated the part number with that of the SE Asia version (which is awful) so that's what turned up!

Not worried now because i will buy the corgi 1/72 Sea Hurricane next year.

Re: white hurricane

Excuse my ignorance, but where did a white Hurricane in RAF colors serve?

North Atlantic! - It's a Royal Navy bird and would have served on escort carriers doring convoy escort.

Really!? I had no idea. Was white a color scheme they used very long? I am asking this while thinking of the gray schemes you normally associate with Atlantic service.

Thanks Timbo.
