FOV Battle of France Stuka

I picked this one up when I bought my white Hurricane. I had been eyeing the snake version but everyone says the Corgi is way superior so I figured no Stukas for me. But then I saw this one. Liked the scheme so I bought it. At the low Target price I couldn't complain too much. It looks pretty good next to my Legends yellow nose Bulgaria Stuka. The two biggest problems are a loose prop and the fact that the bomb is slightly off center. The canopy frame and the antenna are a big bulkier than the Corgi but not unacceptably so to my eyes.

My exact sentiments as well. The old FOV Stuka moulds can still hold it's own even against Corgi's Stukas, imho. I was also very fortunate in being able to cherry-pic the most perfect from the batch so
I was able to eliminate the problems encountered with the hit-n-miss quality issues illustrated above.

I still have the first three issued schemes and I really enjoy looking at it next to the "Acroma" Stuka by Corgi.

Re: FOV Battle of France Stuka

What I like with the FOV stuka is the BIG undercarriage somewhat reminiscent of the earlier Stuka prototype which I would love to see in diecast

I had a girl friend once with a big undercarriage, but I woke up the next morning and sneaked out the bathroom window while she was still alseep. Man, never again will I want to go through that. Alot of beers the night before can sure make you see different!

Re: FOV Battle of France Stuka

1250ships,
I'm on board with you, I think the FOV stukas are fine diecast. I've got the Snake version tucked around here somewhere? I had it out for the longest time, reversed on its standwhich gave it a nice "Going-into-a-push-over" attitude.

Fileasfog,
I would LOVE to see someone do a couple of Spanish Civil War schemes like the one you picture. There was a thread on the old forum requesting what special commision Martin would do next and my vote was for a Spanish Civil War Stuka and BF109 set. Ambitious I know, but there were so many attractive liveries available.

Anything for a weird life.

Spanish Civil War would be good. I'm for anything pre or early war. I'm looking forward to the Gemini early Spitfire for example and love the Corgi pre-war Swordfish.

GREAT TIP!. Thanks. Did that with my displayed snake Stuka the other day - and it looks much better in that position. IMO.
