Thumbs up P-40

We're NY "Snowbirds" and are about to head back to the Finger Lakes region. I figured I'd give the local Target one last visit to see if they had anything of interest on the shelf. They did: the P-40 (FV95301), and it's a beauty. I found the FoV Zero and the ME-262 at the same store in January and I was really impressed with the quality of the models. The P-40 is even better in quality and detail. I love the engine detail-a real show stopper. I just hope FoV keeps up the good work.

Another convert, music to my ears. I have said it before and I will say it again , you just can't have too many P40s. FOV ,,, funny cockpit but yes the engine is superb.

Re: P-40

Stay tuned Jim. I 'm just starting a P-40 customizing job with this particular model. If it goes half as well as I hope, should be a pretty addition to my collection. Planning a busy die-cast modelling weekend. Should be fun!

You may be 'tuned' Jim, the question is - to what frequency ...?

(It's a P-40 Jim, but not as we know it. )

OH Yes Cardo! You've been talking to Lorraine have you?.

She who must be obeyed often says to me and I quote "Well, I dont know what planet you are on but its certainly not this one" unquote.

Yes I know its not a very good model of a P40 but early marks are not exactly thick on the ground so as Lorraine often tells me I should be gratefull for what I can get. And I am!

Very.

Re: P-40

I would think that they would make a Flying Tiger version of thissoon. I think they did a great job on it though.

Re: P-40

I agree. I've got the Pearl Harbour one, and its a very nice piece of diecast. A Flying Tiger or two would make a great follow-up release .

Re: P-40

What's the frequency Kenneth???? .......Apologies to REM fans.....

I remember that one...It was inspired by one of Dan Rather's many bizarre incidents..In this case he claimed he was accosted by some guys who attempted to kidnap him or some such thing and one of the guys kept saying "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"....but knowing Rather's reputation, I believe what the guy was actually saying was "What's this freak we see, Kenneth?" ....End of story...I'm enjoying this P-40 thread immensely and look forward with bait on my breath to seeing Trappy's customized job...
