| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!! I have to say that the prospect of the B-26 (And even the B-25) are pretty damned exciting. I'm hoping that FOV steps up to the plate and we get another winner like the P-40. | |||||||||||||

| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!! I pre-ordered a B-26 as well... i like the looks of the paint scheme that it will have. I'll wait it out on the P-39...I really do want one....But i have to tell ya i have their 1:32 P-51D and it has way too many rivets. I hope this will not be the case with the P-39. JP | |||||||||||||

| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!! It is certainly a good thing that FOV started to make bombers in 1:72 but I am still somewhat disappointed: I bought all of their WW2 planes in 1:72 and practically all of them had opening engine panels. This doesn't appear to be the case with these new FOV bombers where FOV lose their uniqueness - you can buy similar or better planes from Corgi too but Corgi doesn't show what the engine looks like - so many people would buy FOV even if they have a Corgi model already. Plus I was expecting them to continue the logical line of main WWII fighters: Bf 109, Fw, Spitfire, some Soviet WWII planes etc., and was ready to buy them. Now I don't know where FOV is heading... Besides, $50 for a 2 engine bomber is not cheaper than Corgi. | |||||||||||||

| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!!
Unless you are comparing eBay Corgi prices six months to year after the model's release with FoV MSRP prices (which is not fair comparison by the way) your statement is not valid. Although, I've heard that Forces of Valor prices in the Eastern Europe are ridiculous, with 1:32 Dioramas selling for way north of $100USD I've personally been disappointed with FoV models since they universally lack finesse. I would rather wait and buy a model from a company oriented at serious collector like Corgi and Hobby Master than rushing to buy FoV model at full price as soon as it gets released. | Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!!
Just checked prices at several diecast dealers. The Corgi B-25D Air Apaches model goes for between $65.95 and $79.99. What do I get for this amount? A box - whooooppppeeee! A name - double WWWHHHHOOOOPPPPEEEE, and a model that looks like a toy. Now for under $40.00 I get a model B-25 with nicer markings - yeah! No box - landfill has lots of those already. And a model that looks like a toy. Oh yeah, $25.00 to $30.00 in my pocket instead of Corgi's. Sounds like a winning proposition to me. As for FoV lacking finesse, their new P-40 and Zero are as good as my Corgi models and they meet my needs. It's like buying a vehicle to get to work. Some of us MUST have the best, most expensive vehicle available while I'm happy with my little Ford Ranger. Either way I get there. I want a B-26 and a B-25 and now I'll have one. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!! If Corgi made a B-26 and a P-39, they might clean up, but since they don't I am having at these ones. | |||||||||||||

| Re: FOV 2007 Catalog NOW W/ PICS!! FOV's Ju-87's level of finess was totally adequate to me, actually I liked them even better than Corgi's. Unfortunately, their 1:72 line is limited, even they new P-39 is not there. In terms of Ford vs. Mercedes, I have a limited shelf space and my house is not a military museum. I respect other people's individial taste but if I put something on my shelf, it has to be nothing but the best. Within reasonable limits, of course (no more than $25 for a tank, no more than $40 for a fighter plane and no more than $150 for a bomber). | |||||||||||||
