Re: F-14 pictures

Great stuff RJLee! I would never have thought I'd see a FOV F14 come out tops!

Good work mate, great pics. The closest I've come to the FOV F14 is on the boxes of my 1/32 tanks. I didn't even give them serious thought.

I have two Dragon F14s but haven't set them up so can't give serious comment.

Re: F-14 pictures

Well mates i got my FOV F-14 and it's heavy compare to the Witty.
I like the fact you can have the gear up or down.
It's not bad i have seen all the F-14 and i would have to say this one ranked
1st but the Witty is a close 2nd,
Now if i compared it to the Witty F-15...Different story the Witty F-15 tops them all.

Re: F-14 pictures

Hey what a co-ink-adink! I just got my FOV F-14 tonight and all I can say is HOLY SMOKES! WOW! COOL !FAR OUT!! NEAT-O !and OH YEAH! I love the gear options, optional stores, panel details, weathering and heavy sturdy construction. The box is like Dragons with velcro and a picture window and the model is packaged extremely well. I saw the Wittys and I have not one doubt I made the right decision. I will keep monitoring FOV for future modern jet releases. This F-14 is 100% superior to the original FOV F-14. A completely different plane. I am in heaven and will proudly display this model amongst My Witty and Gaincorp models. Sorry Dragon you just don't cut with me. Rock on Unimax!

Re: F-14 pictures

Here is a photo of the two jet fighters together.
I think these are the two best in U.S. modern jet diecast.

Re: F-14 pictures

I just picked up the Israeli F-16 from biggunscollectibles.com it is Phantomphans site, our friendly fellow forum members small but friendly shop and this Beautiful Witty F-16 in addition to the Witty F-15 and FOV F-14 are the core of my U.S. designed modern fighter force. I love my Gaincorp Sea Flanker and my Corgi F-86 but the 1st 3 above mentioned jets rock the house. Excellent pictures Starman you are so very helpful. The F-15 is stillthe current mother of all jet models on the market though.

Re: F-14 pictures

And now I've been inspired to get my own FOV F-14. This will be my diecast aircraft that isn't a Dragon.

Re: F-14 pictures

I'm going to tell you mates a secret.
This morning my wife was dusting the shelves and The FOV F-14 went down in flames.
It fell at least 5ft and hit the floor in the game room.
I saw it happened and you know what....That thing is one tuff cookie not one thing broke or got messed up during impact.
I"m sold to the FOV and thankfull they make a really tuff diecast.

Boeing, Airbus, all aircraft manufacturers should learn from Forces of Valor and make real planes impact-proof!

Re: F-14 pictures

JP: I believe that the next FOV F-14 is a VF-41 airplane, but I haven't seen any U.S. sellers who carry it. In fact, the only source that I'm familiar with is a Japanese retailer (they have the only pics I've seen):

http://www.top-gun.jp/default.html

I can't read Japanese, but on this site there also seems to be a new 1/72 F-14A in the colors of VF-84, circa 1978. (For those of you who aren't Tomcat nuts, this is the classic "AJ"/USS Nimitz, black-and-yellow, skull-and-crossbones scheme, as seen in the film "The Final Countdown.") Not sure who the manufacturer is or what this airplane is like, but...I'm tempted.

Careful, Top Gun/Hogan Tomcats are not 1/72, they are 1/80 as far as I know. and I do read some Japanese
