Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

My P40 and Zero have fixed landing gear in the down position.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Thanks, John...that's what I was afraid of. The previous FOV aircraft had the optional position gear, which I favor. I hope it's not a trend in the FOV line of future releases.

Mike62,
Hey there.

The FOV's from that are available from the Hobby Shops come with optional gear. The Target version does not. This is different from the initial line released last year.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

DJJeff...thanks for that info...I haven't seen any of the hobby shop releases of FOV aircraft, only the Target releases. The Hobby Town stores around here (Omaha, NE) seem to carry just the FOV armour stuff.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Mike,
Hey there.

I think the FOV hobby shop version is fairly new. Plus, there just isn't the "sex appeal" factor with the FOV.

When last years line arrived and was the exact same for hobby shops and Target it took the wind out of the collector market. I surmise that most hobby shops were left sitting on a bunch of unsold stock and therefore cut back, or eliminated their respective orders for this year. (I'm purely making an educated guess.)

I surmise that FOV learned their lesson, hence the two different versions, but the hobby shops would rather play safe, and not carry the new FOV line, than sorry and be stuck.

For the time being, you'll have to shop on line. I got the P-40 last week and it's worth the $20.00-ish cost. (After shipping.)

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

I picked up the Action version of the Me-262 today and although it doesn't have the optional landing gear, it is a very nice piece for $11.00.. I can honestly say that it rivals the Me-262 produced by Corgi and Dragon.. The paint is top-notch and the small details such as the cannon bay/ cover is well detailed, and fits snugly.. FOV also included all the FUG antennas and direction finding loop..
