Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

These didn't show up for me until December 27th. I immediately purchased all of them. Good thing I got them when I did - ALL of the FOV aircraft are gone now...

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

One thing I would caution you guys about these is that the quality of these recent FOV diecasts aren't that great (of course you knew that all along, didn't you), and that you really have to look carefully for the ones that looks good in the bunch.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Picked up the P-40 at Target the other day, most of the FOV stuff was pretty picked through, but they had one P-40 left and I grabbed it! I'm very happy with this piece!

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

I have a wonderful wife, she came home from Target today with all three. I think they all look great!

Tracey

Tracey: Great news. To me, this is like your bringing home the Tampax and other special items. What a great wife! I had the P-40 and the Zero in the cart. She knows that I bought them for other Forum members. I am still waiting for a reply.

Anyone out there need the P-40 or the Zero? I will ship to where you are. I might even throw in a Maxi-pad: great First Aid for hunters. (I learned that in emergency Volunteer EMS class.)

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

My AOR in Connecticut is the same, Coursairs, plenty of them, and one Stuka. A few Modern Armor. They had one of the new infantry releases US with the Dogshack (guard shack). Not much else.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Went to my local Target today. They had a Hurricane (not the white one I'd buy), a Stuka, the Zero, and two P-40's. I picked up the P-40 and will take some pictures of it later. The Zero I passed on because I have the Witty version of the exact same plane. I really wish producers would do different serial numbers. That exact Zero has been done three times in 1/72.

Same in northern Connecticut Meskary. Only two Corsairs, two green Stukas and one Hurricane. Armor too.

I've gotten the FoV P-40 and as this is the only P-40B version in diecast it is a very nice model. I did not get the retail store "cheapie" version, but the collector's version. A very nice plane even though it's not a Flying Tiger version that everyone likes. I too would like a true B/C version in AVG markings.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Well my P-40 remains un-photographed because my main model camera (Sony F717) decided to die on me. Have to send it in for repair. Fortunately it is a known defect and it is 100% covered by warranty.

In the meantime i'll have to break out the big guns and use my Canon 20D. It produces better images but takes a bit more work to get them.

Re: P-40; Zero; Me 262 - Targets?

Do the three new FOV models (P-40, Me-262 and Zero) have optional position landing gear? I saw the Me-262 at a Target yesterday, but just from looking through the packaging, it appears the landing gear are fixed in the extended position. I didn't see any optional landing gear doors as part of the packaging, other than the gun compartment door and optional model stand. I haven't seen the Zero or P-40 yet (in person), but they appear to be made with the gear down as well. FYI, the same Target had 2 of the white Hurricanes.
