Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

Thanks for sharing the history of this B-26, johnnyboy. I stopped in a local Target today, did not find it, but I really wasn't expecting to see it...but thought it was worth a shot, as you never know......

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

I checked my Target yesterday and as expected no bombers. Had several of the Hurricanes, Stukas, and P-40 in stock along with lots of tanks and the new Dragon Wagon. Also a 1/72 Blackhawk helo.

Perhaps we could obtain the SKU# for the FOV B-25 and B-26 diecasts from some posters on here with connections to a stockroom manager from TARGET?

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

I just received both the B-25J and B-26B and ,despite some relatively minor problems, I am quite satisfied with them. As other posts have noted, the B-25's dorsal turret is simply too small and there are a few locations, such as the wingtip lights, which were overpainted with olive drab. Also there is a strange powdery residue in the upper tail area that looks like a bad attempt at weathering or, more likely, an adverse chemical reaction during the painting process. It washes off partly with a gentle water scrub, but not completely, so I had to apply some paint to cover the affected areas. As for the B-26, its rubber pitot heads are difficult to bend into the proper shape--kinetic energy causes them to revert to their warped mode. Also, there are some areas where the parts don't fit so well. On my model the tail does not blend neatly into the fuselage, leaving a small, but noticeable gap. On the positive side, the tail gunner's canopy looks better than it does in the posted pictures and the stands, while ugly, give a good fit with a fairly sturdy base. Also, those hideous mounting holes under the wings that marred FOV's earlier 1:72 scale fighter planes are gone. Overall, my advice is to get these planes while you can. They are a good value for the money and welcome additions to any WWII aircraft collection.

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

I spoke to my buddy on the phone tonight and he has just received the B26 and says it very good.
His word is good enough for me so I shall try to get one, maybe I will find one on my trip over to the Americas.

Get those Krispy Kream doughnuts ready.

God Bless America.
