Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

These look pretty good from the pictures, thanks for posting them folks.

The birds are what I'd expect from FOV. There are going to be some QAQC issues as FOV intends their models for a mass market, but nothing that can't be lived with, at least for me.

The clear parts look a little slap-dash and the guns appear rubber, and bent, but that can be corrected with some patience. All in all, the issues on each plane appear to be pretty easy to overlook. For the price, compared to Corgi birds, these will find their way into a LOT of display cases. I know that I will be picking up a B-26 sometime soon.

Let's hope they come out with a Flak Bait B-26 livery soon. I'd hate to have to wait for 2 years to get one.

I'd like to think FOV is finally finding that compromise they have been looking for between cost effectiveness and quality. Sure, I'd like more quality, but if I'm saving $25.00, I'll gladly add these to the fleet.

Anything for a weird life.

Smile Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

Having prior experience with FOV, I don't think anyone here is surprised.. As a matter of fact, I think the majority of members are/will be pleased with how these turned out, unlike some of our counterparts, whom are already critisizing it before they even see it in person..
But hey, who else is going to make a Marauder anytime soon??

I agree with your thinking about the the Marauder. The bottom line for me is that price and postage are slowly killing my addiction. Well almost. If those do land in South Africa they should be a whole lot cheaper than Corgis I would have to import. I don't have a B25 so I may even consider the FOV one. They don't look bad so I'm eager to hear what you guys think of them when you have them in hand.

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

The B-26 looks good and will find a home on my shelf. I have 3 Corgi B-25s which will do fine. It's great to see that the 'rivets which can be seen from the Moon' are thankfully missing from these aircraft.

Any idea when the will hit stores on this side of the pond?

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

Googled up some photos of the real B-25J plus compared it to the Corgi version as pictured on Tricatus' site. Looks to me like the top turret is way too short- like they used the same top turret from the B-26. Either that or it was pushed down and needs to be popped back up. I couldn't find a B-25 picture showing anything but the high turret- doesn't mean they didn't use the lower profile one though.

The FOV sits on the gear differently- look at the angle of the nose gear compared to the Corgi. Compared to the photos looks like Corgi has the angle better than the FOV.

Can't tell about the angle of the tails. In some of the photos it looks ok- in others looks like to much upward sweep on the horizontal part.

When I find the B 26 at Target--it will be mine! Maybe even the B 25, but I do already have one of Corgi's.

Re: FOV B-25/B-26 pics..

Diecast seems to be a target rich environment at the moment, so many must haves I dont know which way to jump.
However the B26 is certainly a no brainer.
Now just where in heck am I going to put it?

Having said that I had better have a look and find out who is selling them and how much.

Yes, the lighting would probably be much better there than the location I was going to suggest..

I did think I might have left myself open to the adverse comment or two. I was correct!
