Re: Zero

I have a book on Zero's this was actually correct(props rear color) perhaps as an anti-glare feature. The green inside the cockpit and wheel wells seems off but close enough for me. At least they tried on that..............

Re: Zero

Picked up the FOV Zero (finally got to my local TRU) last week. I've been wanting to add an earlier model Zero to my collection in the light gray paint scheme, but I didn't want to pay 30 bucks for one. This one fits the bill, nothing spectacular but nothing that puts me off. It was worth 12 clams. Only thing that bugged me is that apparently FOV stopped offering choice of landing configurations with this one and possibly the other more recent WWII fighters. I may still have to fork over the cash to get on cleaned up.

Re: Zero

Just curious, is this the Zero in question?

Re: Zero

I think those pics hit the nail on the head. I see many versions of the naval Zeros and cannot count the different liveries and configurations. Nice pics thanks.

FoV seems to be releasing 2 versions of their fighters - one for collectors that includes the option for retracted landing gear, and one for mass market which is an extended gear, no frills version. The former is more expensive (but still within a reseanable price range) and harder to come by. I buy the cheaper versions if I'm doing a customization job and want a simple, base model. If I buy one to add to my collection and store in its box, I buy the collector version. Check ebay - the collector versions show up quite often for about $14.99 - $16.99.

Re: Zero

I bought the dearer version and I'm impressed. This is my first foray back into the new 'improved' FOV. I got the Hurricanes before and was so disappointed with them I ended up taking out the pilots and binning them. The only improvement I would like to see is rubber/plastic painted plugs for the the three obvious holes for the stand.
