Re: New P-40C - Review

Great review and pics, thanks!

Hey HotTrap, can you give us the scoop of the other P-40 B/C schemes from FOV? Does the packageing have any pictures on the back? Thanks, bud!

Hi flyXwire,
Unfortunately there don't appear to be any other P-40 B/C schemes from FOV. The back of the box only shows two F-14s (VF-54 & VF-41) a couple of JU87s, 2 Corsairs, this P-40 and the Zero. Oh yeah, the white Hurricane is there too. Hopefully something else will come down the road. There's always the customizing route but not everyone is into doing this.

Re: New P-40C - Review

Have to agree with Hot Trap's review. This thing is pretty cool in the box, haven't taken it out though. My only beef is FOV's policy of having their models be screwed in to the base. Therefore its "boxability" isn't quite the same as Corgi's. Still, it is nice to have a P-40C in 1/72 in a Pearl Harbor scheme. It goes nicely with Dragon's Zero, which was its opponent on that dark December day. Now if only someone would come up with a 1/72 Val and Kate.

Also, the back of the box pics show the new white Sea Hurricane, a VF-41 Black Aces Tomcat, and VMF-323's Corsair.

I agree it would be nice to have the Val and Kate in 1/72.

Re: New P-40C - Review

Thanks for the review funny isn't it Corgi could harldy match this.

...and let alone the $10.00 price tag! I'm glad to see other companies stepping up to the plate (ie, FOV, GA, HM). Maybe ole Corgi will drop their prices some when they lose more of the market share. Yeah right, and when "Queer eye for the straight guy--Season 1" is on the want list.

Buy one of these and customize it as a Flying Tiger plane. That way you'll have an exclusive until FOV does one which could take who knows how long.

Do you know if they sell the 1:72nd decals to do the three main squadrons of the AVG: Adam & Eve, Pandas, Hell's Angels?
