Re: New P-40C - Review

You could always try the Squadron.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Wow that looks great. I've been busting on FOV for some time but even though its another P-40 that engine detail is too hard to pass up.

Yeah at least it is a different variant of the P-40.

Re: New P-40C - Review

I did get my P-40C FOV and i must say it's a charm for the price you pay for it.
The P-40 does look better with the Shark teeth nose art added to it......
Knowing me i will end up getting a another FOV P-40C and a decal set to change it into a Flying Tiger...
If you have not got one of these P-40C yet..Get one there worth it.

I picked up my P-40 today from a local hobbyshop and I have to say that I am impressed!! The plane is great in person (pics don't do it justice) and is a huge jump for FOV in the quality range, far better than the Hurricane/Stukas we all know.. I would dare to say that this is getting close to Hobbymaster/Corgi quality, it just falls short, but not by much..

I would highly recommend these for any Pearl Harbor fan..

I received mine yesterday. One of the MGs on the wing sticks out a bit further than the other ones, but nothing overwhelmingly noticeable. Nice fit on the landing gear, both stored and extended. It is a good quality diecast considering the price I paid ($18.00 which includes shipping).

Re: New P-40C

Nice to have you back planenuts! If you look at that picture carefully, you will see that the canopy is smaller than it is on a P-40E. This was normal on the B/C variant. FoV got it pretty close to right. I'd like an AVG variant especially since that's what they flew. The E's were flown by the Tigers after the war started for the US. Still I prefer the USAAF versions - got six Tiger versions including two EasyModel ones.
