Re: White Hurricane - Target USA

No luck here either, they had the odd color green / maroon one but no white one and they had them priced at 10.99.

I live within a 10 min. drive to a Target here in Orlando. I always check when I am in there (was in there with the wifey today and dragged her over to the toy aisle) but nothing was there except for 2 Stukas and two nasty looking Hurricanes, not the white one. I actually like the white hurricane and will purchase it when I find one. Can't beat the $10 price tag for sure!

Re: White Hurricane - Target USA

It's a Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm livery.

So can I assume the Royal Navy livery officially makes this one what is known as a "Sea Hurricane"?

Plus, is this verion gonna eventually end of in hobby shops and not just at Target?

Did you pick any of these up? How'd the Hanomag look to you H?

I examined the Hanomag closely, but I ended up putting it back.. I just wasn't that impressed by it.. I think the main detraction was FOVs insistance of using wire antennas and putting them where they shouldn't be.. That was the case with this and the reason I left it.. The "Sea" Hurricane was almost home with me when I changed my mind and decided it too could stay since I really don't need any more Hurri's in my collection..
I just wasn't over impressed with any of the latest releases (Corsair was a different livery and probably the best of the group)..

Here is the livery of the Corsair:

Re: White Hurricane - Target USA

IIRC, there used to be two versions of the collectors series of FOV diecast - the 'clean' version was destined for TARGET stores, and the heavily 'weathered' line exclusive only to hobby shops? Why did the weathered series started showing up at TARGET stores? Anyone has the scoop?

In the larger scale like 1/32, Target still gets the "Action" versions.. I think that in the 1/72 versions, there isn't alot of noticable difference and maybe the manufacturer gets them mixed up, or Target gets these from FOV who gets them from other retailers that can't sell them..

On a side note, I did go back and get the white Hurricane...

It has an arrestor hook painted on the underside near the tail, but the casting wasn't modified for the hook.. I guess its a "give n take" deal.. Can't beat it for $9.99
