What's happening with Blue Box?

For those of you who collect Blue Box figures, does anyone know whether there's any talk of them doing any more modern day pilots? I ask this because they have'nt made any for what seems like ages now!!

Blue Box stopped making pilot figures from their Elite Force Aviators line a long time ago. The last pilot figure was suppose to be a WWII USMC Corsair pilot but was never released back in 2003. So it pretty much ended in that year, needless to say.

Thanks for that info FlyX Wire! That is such a pity because I collected some of their earlier stuff (F14 Pilots etc) and thought the quality was excellent! I missed out on their U2 Pilot which I was gutted about and was hoping they would've produced more of a variety of pilots like the Typhoon,F22 etc! I wonder what the reason was for them just "quitting the scene" like that?!

I used to collect 1:6th figures during that time (2002-2005), and pilots were consistent poor sellers. Always discounted, etc. The low point came when BBI released Bush (not Bush Sr. circa 1944, mind you) in pilot's suit. That was the end of it all.

Sergey

Fair point Sergey, but that wasn't always the case, like for instance the U2 Pilot i mentioned earlier, that sold like hot cakes and you can't find that now for love of money!! I 've tried ebay and so many other ways of trying to get my hands on one of these and it's almost impossible! I think BBi should've carried on with their pilots, but did their research properly, by doing "unusual" choices and they would've been almost guaranteed to sell well! I could think of a few off the top of my head, that i know would be good sellers!! (RAF,French AF,etc etc, even doing a Shuttle pilot/astronaut would be good!!)

Re: What's happening with Blue Box?

I bought two of the BBI U-2 Pilot sets back when they were first issued. I would surely love to have a 1/6th SR-71 pilot figure to display next to my future CW Blackbird acquisition!
