looks sharp, but the only problem I see is that it doesn't look like him at all.

Guys, I would have to disagree with you.

Remember that this figure is based on the healthy Rommel "The Desert Fox" before taking ill during the late stages of the North African Campaign.

Take a look at the photos which I have included below.

The two end pictures are of the DID figure and the center is the real deal taken during the early years in North Africa.

By comparing apples and apples (B&W to B&W and the correct timeframe) I would say that DID did a wonderful job.

My only complaint is that they left out his famous goggles

Anyways, a 1/6th figure is still pretty small considering that the head sculpt is only about a 140mm high.

Great Job DID, now lets see a Panzer Meyer to add to your awesome figure collection

Here's a good discussion of the DID (Dragon In Dream) Rommel figure at the Sixth Division: New DiD figure: Rommel - The Barracks - Briefing Rooms - THE SIXTH DIVISION - Message Board - Yuku

Personally, I prefer the Rommel figure done by a company called Hot Toys. ROMMEL

Wink Re: Erwin Rommel 1:6 figure by DiD

I'm sorry but I really find not even a passing resemblance to the real Rommel (not to mention the head-to-body ratio, more at home in a film a la Van Damme). Moreover, I find the figure's face somewhat hilarious - the guy looks half way between a Siberian moujik with Asian features and Mexican comedian Mario Moreno "Cantinflas". To my eye, no traces of germanic military distinction in DID's tough-looking Asian in disguise.

This head can however be saved for a Soviet officer... say, Major Rommelov!!

Thumbs up Re: Erwin Rommel 1:6 figure by DiD

OK, this should put this subject to bed.

This is the best Rommel to date by far.

Can you shed some light on who's the sculptor is? I have a feeling that I know who did this one.
