Italieri : new 75 mm gun and crew

Hi Guys,

The new Italieri German and Russian AT gun sets are in the shops now. I got hold of a couple of the German pak 40 sets. They are very good and appear to have been made by the same guy who sculpted the Italieri Elite Germans. The figs are certainly the same style. The pak 40 is a simplified, snap together affair. All are in the same hardish plastic of the Elite set.

No complaints, but we could have done with a tow-hook and some more ammo boxes. Follow up set ? Yes! If they could produce a set on the move with a tractor vehicle of some kind, this would be helpful.

Also, an AT gun limbered up would be useful too !

This set has two sprues of 2X pak 40 75 mm AT guns and 2X sets of 6 figures in late war uniform/equipment. Three figures carry 75mm ammo, two tend the gun and one commander, with raised arm at the ready, is poised to give the command to fire.

It's so new that i haven't found any pics on the net, and the guys over at Plastic Soldier Review haven't had time to review it !

The gun comes in 9 pieces which almost snap together. Being hard plastic, it is easy to glue with conventional plastic adhesive, but just to make sure I'll be using superglue !

I think that you guys who build your own will like it. If you aren't a modeller, but you are looking for gun crews, some basic paint work will provide you with useful figures and good-looking AT guns at very little cost !
